ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT
The organizational focus remains steadfast in building a body of knowledge and standardization recommendations for female-bodied athletes, mothers, and caregivers. The work involves hands-on research, coaching, and oversight to ensure mothers can safely return to sport without penalty for their expanding families. With success, &Mother is fueling a narrative shift about mothers successfully returning to sport.

We have continued our work with the New York Road Runners by providing lactation stations for 150 pumping moms at their marquee races - the United Airlines Half Marathon, the RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon, and the TCS NYC Marathon.This year bought in two, new outstanding partnerships with Bobbie for Change and VitaCoco.

As we emerged from the global COVID-19 pandemic, &Mother to activate at in-person events where we launched the first-of-its-kind Child Care initiative at USA Track and Field Nationals by facilitating free childcare for athletes, coaches and staff, as well as providing our first on-course lactation support at the New York City Marathon and the Monterey Bay Half Marathon by year’s end.

We really hit our stride this year, identifying the three key pillars underlying our strategic programming — Narrative Shift, Individual Support, and Institutional Change — and accomplishing incredible things in each of them.
We also raised 5x more in funding than 2020 and launched our first community fundraiser — our Mother’s Day Mom Forward 5K — that registered over 500 community members and raised nearly $20,000.

While we did not expect to launch &Mother at the beginning of a pandemic — a moment in time that would challenge our ability to navigate work and parenting, change the fundraising landscape, and make our mission even more relevant and pressing — we kept moving forward!
We are so proud of what we accomplished in this first year.
